Ways to Enhance Oral Health During the Work Day |
Even if you are vigilant about brushing and flossing your teeth in the morning and at night, plenty of damage can occur in between those hours. Finding ways to sneak in a few minutes to brush or at least rinse your teeth at work can not only save your oral health, but also prevent embarrassment from bad breath after eating lunch.

Store a toothbrush in your desk or in your purse. If you do this, make sure to keep it sanitary, by fully rinsing and drying the bristles and then keeping it covered to prevent bacteria from accumulating on it. |
• |
Rinse your mouth right after eating lunch. If you are too embarrassed to brush your teeth in a public restroom, at the very least, rinse your mouth after eating. If you rigorously rinse with warm water, you will dislodge any food particles that were stuck in your teeth, which could prevent future decay. |
• |
Drink water all day long. Water is good not only for your body, but your mouth too. A dry mouth harbors more bacteria, putting you at risk for infection and decay. If you make it a habit to sip on water all day long, you will keep your mouth moist and stop bacteria from taking up residence on your teeth before you are able to get to your toothbrush at home. |
• |
Carry mouthwash. If you do not want to brush your teeth, you can swish your mouth out with mouthwash which will give your teeth the benefit of fluoride and germ fighting ingredients that will protect your teeth during the day. |
